REPRESENTATIVE TEAMS WANGANUI SELECTIONS -MATCHES WITH HAM ERA The sole selector for the Wanganui Lawn Tennis Association, Mr. D. G. O’Toole, has chosen the teams to represent Wanganui against Hawera, the A team to play at Hawera on February 25, and the B team to play at Wanganui on February 26. Any player unable to take part is requested to advise the selector immediately. The teams have been chosen a fortnight before the matches are to be played with the view to allow players plenty of time to have practice in doubles and combined doubles play, and the selector has expressed the hope that advantage will be taken of this opportunity. The following is the A team: L. Udy (capt.), C. Fenwick, T. Latham. E. Tippens, J. Foster, D. Earle; Misse.s M. Clarke, P. Wylds, J. Lamont, J. Coull, Mrs. C. V. Evans, Miss E. Low. For doubles play, the A team will be paired thus: Udy and Earle, Latham and Fenwick, Foster and Tippins; Misses Wylds and Lamont, Misses Clark and Coull. Mrs. Evans and Miss Low; Udy and Miss Clark, Earle and Miss Wylds, Latham and Miss Lamont, Fenwick and Miss Coull, Tippins and Mrs. Evans, Foster and Miss Low. Following is the B team: M. L. I WANGANUI ASSOCIATION RESIDENTIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS RESULTS OF THE FIN ALS Practically a complete change was made in the list of title-holders when the Wanganui Lawn Tennis Association’s residential championships were concluded at the Wanganui courts during the week-end. L. Udy, last year’s holder of the

men’s singles title, went under in a semi-final to E. Tippins who, in turn was beaten in the final by N. HayCampbell. Miss M. Clark won the women’s singles final. Last year Miss M. Purcell was the title-holder. H. T. Cox, who hold the men’s doubles title with L. Udy, is not competing this I year, and Udy had M. L. Lampe as 1 his partner in retaining the title. Miss [ M. Purcell, who held the women's doubles title with Miss T. Greaves, had Miss P. Wyld.s as her aprtner this year in retaining the title. In the combined doubles final, E. Tippins and Miss T. Greaves arc ihe title-holders, but last year H. T. Cox partnered Miss Greaves. Following are the results of the play on Saturday and yesterday:— Men’s Singles Semi-finals: E. Tippins beat L. Udy, 7-5, 7-5; N. Hay-Campbell beat C. , Fenwick, 7-5, 4-6, 8-6. Final: N. Hay-Campbell beat E. Tippins, 6-2, 6-1. Women’s Singles Final: Miss M. Clark heat Miss P. ' Wyld.s, 6-0, 3-6, 6-3.
