STANLEY McKAY’S NEW “GAIETIES”
VAUDEVILLE DE LUXE AND REVUE Since last in Wanganui, about a year ago, Mr. Stanley McKay's "Gaieties’ Company has been completely reorganised, so playgoers will have the pleasure of seeing an entirely new combination of comedians, singers, dancers, acrobats and jugglers during the short season of three nights and a matinee, opening at the Oepar House on Wednesday, February 15. Mr. McKay considers his present show the best and most versatile he has yet had the pleasure of introducing to Dominion playgoers. Comedy, always a strong feature of a good vaudeville show, is in the capable hands of Stan Foley, Australia’s most versatile comedian, and Alec McKinnon, from Glasgow. These two artists have their audiences in screams of laughter with their individual numbers and up-to-the-minute sketches. A performer that all will like is Stell.. Lamond, the brilliant personality girl, whose artistry is revealed in her delightful character studies. Everybody’s favourite, Nellie Kolle, is also included in the caste, and promises something entirely new in male impersonations. Mr. McKay has been fortunate in securing the services 01 Geo. Hurd, the international royal command juggling star, who has on several occasions appeared before Royalty. Dancing is featured by Scotty and Dolly, Australia’s premier dancing duo; Dolly Donoghue, Gerry Reogh, and Snowy Towers. An act that should make a big appeal to lovers of athletic feats is that of the San Remos Bros., matchless hand-balancers. The only matinee ol the season is to be given on Friday afternoon at 3.15. Seats may be reserved without extra charge at Dobbs Bros.
