HOLIDAY ADVENTURE

WAYFARER LEAVES FOR SYDNEY YACHT TO CALL AT ISLANDS ON WAY [ Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, Feb. 9. Five young men in search of a holiday adventure left Auckland to-day aboard the 36ft. cutter Wayfarer to sail to Sydney by way of Norfolk Island and Lord Howe Island. Later they propose to sail back to Auckland, the whole cruise to occupy about four months.

The joint-owners of the Wayfarer, Messrs. K. and G. Reid, of Otahuhu, who also built her, have with them as a crew, Douglas- Rush and Don Hardy, of Auckland, and Bernard Black, of Napier. Keith Reid is skipper and navigator and the others are all experienced yachtsmen with the exception of Black, who is making his first i voyage. ! "It. is simply a holiday,” said K. Reid. “We are unlikely to go beyond [Sydney, but we will call at Russell on the way up the coast and expect to make Norfolk Island in about 10 days’ time. We are in no hurry and are imaking the trip purely for pleasure. 'No schedule has been made and we have no plans as to what we will do when we get to Sydney,” he said.
