WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
MEETING AT BELLS The February meeting of the Bulls Women’s Institute was held on Monday, Mrs. Huddleston presiding over a fair attendance of members. Arrangements were made for the group meeting, to be held in Bulls on February 20, and nominations for the new committee must be handed in to the president not later than that date. The roll call, “What do you give your husband on institute day?” caused much amusement. Mrs. Witherington gave a demonstration of Chinese mosaic work, and Mrs. Huddleston demonstrated crochet tea cosy making, both demonstrations being followed with keen interest. Mrs. Sanson contributed two recitations. Keen interest was taken in Miss Levett’s iris competition. Miss Levett is kindly supplying bulbs and a trophy for the best three blooms shown at the end of the year. Institute members wishing to enter for the competition are requested to ring Mrs. Jackson. Competitions resulted: Flower competition, Mrs. Jurgens 1; specimen bloom, Mrs. Jackson 1, Mrs. Jurgens 2; antirrhinum (points prize),- Miss Wicks 1, Mrs. C. V. Green 2.
