STRONG COMPETITION RECORDED. SYDNEY, Feb. 8. Under strong competition from all sections the trade wool market to-day was very firm. Greasy Merino made 19? d per lb. The offering consisted of 11357 bales and 10,340 were sold at auction also 636 privately. MARKET IN SELLERS' FAVOUR Received Feb. 9, 10.10 a.m. SYDNEY, Feb. 10. At the wool sales 10,120 bales were offered and 9690 sold by auction, also 688 privately. There was strong competition from the Continent and Yorkshire and good support from Japan and the local mills. The market ruled in sellers’ favour with a strong demand for skirtings which were quoted from par to live per cent, higher. Greasy Merino made 23Sd per lb. ~
