U.S. NATIONAL DEBT
MR. MORGENTHAI 'S PREDICTION WILL REACH FIFTY BILLION DOLLARS Received Feb. 8. 9.50 p.m. WASHINGTON, Feb. 7. Testifying before the congressional committee the Secretary of the Treasury, Mr. Morgenthau, predicted that the national debt would reach fifty billion dollars and this without endangering the country s financial structure. The present statutory limit of debt is forty-five billion dollars.
