McKAY’S NEW GAIETIES

VAUDEVILLE AND REVUE. COMING TO OPERA HOUSE. That most popular form of entertainments, —vaudeville and re- i vue, —which makes a big appeal to all classes, is to be presented at the Opera House for a short season of three nights and a matinee, opening on Wednesday, February 15, by Stanley McKay’s new Gaieties Company. One of the bright particular stars in the new show is Geo. Hurd, the acknowledged successor to that juggling genius, Cinquivalli. Another act of a different nature, the hand balancing of the San Remos Brothers, also stands out for its brilliance. Laughter is the keynote of a good vaudeville show, and Mr. McKay has been fortunate in securing the services of two brilliant fun-makers, Stan Foley and Alex. McKinnon. Other capable performers are Stella Lamond (the personality girl). Nellie Rolle (male impersonator), Snowy Towers and Jerry Keogh (acrobatic dancers). Max Reddy (light comedian), Stella Collier (soprano), Barry Ross (baritone), Assam, Pekoe, Souahen and Congo (crazy clowns), Scotty and Dolly (national dancers). May Brookes’ orchestra and the Gaieties ballet are features of each revue. The only matinee is to be given on Friday afternoon at 3.15. Seats may be reserved at Dobbs Bros.’ without extra charge from Thursday. A Mason Thriller. Alexander Korda has a galaxy of stars in England for his future productions. His recent adaptation of A. E. W. Mason’s "Four Feathers" starred Laurence O 1 liver; the role was originally intended for Robert Donat, but as he was needed for "The Citadel" Mr.Ol liver replaced him in the Mason thriller. Roger Livesy is a leading English actor who was also prominently cast, and Barry K. Barnes, after his superb work in "The Return of the Scarlet Pimpernel" was sought after for a big part.
