PATEA PASTIMES
BOWLING TOURNAMENT (Own Correspondent). PATEA, Feb. 7. The Patea rink, Williams, Beil, Hurley and Sheilds, were the winners of the one-day tournament held by the Hawera Bowling Club last Saturday, out of 28 rinks from various parts of Taranaki. Patea and Fitzroy tied in section B, with 5i wins, and in the play-off Patea won 8 to 1. In the final Patea played Stratford, winners of the A division, defeating them 10-9. Another team skipped by R. Scown was also entered. CRICKET Patea were defeated by Manaia, al Patea, on Saturday, J. Christie, for Manaia, putting up the splendid score of 103 not out. A.
