CHAMPIONS FOR WANGANUI MEETING ON COOK S GARDENS The Wanganui Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club will hold an electric light sports meeting on Cook’s Gardens next Saturday night, at which champion cyclists and record-holders from Auckland will compete. The entrants also include Jack Wade (professional), who will attempt the New Zealand half-mile record. It should be a night of thrills on the cycling track, while the cream of
| the athletic talent in this district will [be seen in action, in addition to W. Pullar, of Dunedin (the Empire Games I representative), who recently made a j great showing in his races against V. IP. Boot, the New Zealand champion, ■and H. Backhouse (the crack Victorian) distance runners. I Mrs. V. Rolleson, woman champion printer, is also to be a competitor and great interest will be taken in her appearance. Large fields and excellent sport are fissured, and, given fine weather, there should be a big attendance.
