MURDER CHARGE
OUTRAGE IN NEW SOUTH WALES Received Feb. 7, 6.5 p.m. SYDNEY, Feb. 7. Trevor John Kelly, aged 24, a motor mechanic, who was arrested at Brisbane on Sunday and charged with stealing a motor-truck, was brought to Tenterfield yesterday qnd charged with the murder of Constance Sommerlad and infl'eting grievous bodily harm on her brother. Kelly was remanded.
A recent Sydney cablegram stated: The brutal murder of a prominent young woman and grave injuries to her brother have stirred the northern districts of New South Wales. The dead woman, Constance Sommerlad, aged 36, kept house for her brother, Eric Sommerlad, aged 26, farmer, four miles from Tenterfield. Apparently, Miss Sommerlad was attacked with an axe while in bed, her head being frightfully battered. Her brother, I who was similarly assailed, was found unconscious. The tragedy was discovered on Saturday by a sister who 1 visited the house.
