SOCIAL AND MEETING AT RAETIHI The Raetihi Women's Institute hel.i a social afternoon on January 14. There was a good attendance also quite a muster of children who were especially catered for in the way of
ice creams, etc. Mrs. Sandford occupied the chair. After reciting .the Aspirations, competitions and games were indulged in. During the interval baby Hay Hanson was presented with a post office money-box. Results of competitions were as follows: —Mrs. Faul 1, Mrs. Eyes 2. Children's competition: Guy Lynch J. On February 2, the members held their monthly meeting, when there was a fair attendance. Arrangements were made in connection with the stall at the A. H. and I. show to be held on February 25. Mrs. Griffiths gave an interest in o demonstration on the making of bias binding. The guessing competition resulted in Mrs. Head being the winner. Other competitions were as follows: —Jar o± flowers, Mrs. H. Frederick 1, Mrs. T. S. Ward 2; best bloom, Mrs. Honore 1, Mrs. T. Dobson 2, Mrs. T. S. Ward 3. The meeting concluded with the National Anthem.
