PRISONERS SENTENCED
. HAMILTON SUPREME (DUKT | NEGLIGENT DRIVING CHARGE [ Per Press Association.] HAMILTON, Feb. 7. I Two prisoners found guilty during the criminal session of the Supreme Court in Hamilton were sentenced | by Mr. Justice Smith. I Ernest Roy Thornton, aged 31, found guilty of negligent driving at Whatawhata on September 3, thereby causing the death of Maurice Desmond Kelly, was admitted to probation for two years, ordered to pay costs (£5B 10s 9d> and was also instructed to take out a prohibition order during the term of probation. > His present driving licence was cancelled and he was debarred from holding another licence for five years. Charles Edwgrd Salter, aged 38, stock dealer, Taumarunui. found guilty of theft of cattle, was fined £75 and was ordered to pay costs <£33 i Ils 4d>. He was allowed a week to [ pay, in default six months' harq i labour.
