EIGHT INVOLVED
MOTOR-CYCLISTS IN MINOR COLLISION MEDICAL ATTENTION FOR ONE RIDER Involving eigTit motor-cyclists and a light motor-car, an accident which fortunately was not attended with serious results occurred on Calico Line, Marton, on Saturday afternoon, reports the Marton correspondent of the “Chronicle." Riding, in formation along Calico Line toward Marton, a convoy of eight motor-cyclists from the Waiouru Camp, north of Taihape, was preceded by officers in a sports model car. Near Bredin’s Line a car approached the convoy, coming over the brow of Runciman's Hili, and the driver, Mr. E. Oliver, Tutaenui, signalled his intention to turn into Bredin’s Line’. Seeing the motorcyclists Mr. Oliver slowed down, intending to permit them to pass before he turned. The officers stopped but the motor-cyclists came on, the first rider grazing the side of Mr. Oliver’s car and falling. There was a general mix-up when the other motor-cyclists were involved in the collision, but the majority' escaped with minor injuries and superficial cuts. One received injuries which necessitated his receiving medical attention.
