IMPORT RESTRICTIONS

CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ATTITUDE WANGANUI SUPPORTS NATIONAL ASSOCIATION Approval of the method adopted by the Associated Chambers of Commerce in dealing with the imports restriction question was expressed lasi night at the quarterly meeting of the Wanganui Chamber of Commerce. A motion dealing with the subject was passed after discussion. The meeting was well attended and Mr. D. G. O’Toole was in the chair. It was decided to request the Seventh Day Adventists to hold their Dominion camp in Wanganui at the Wanganui Jockey Club's grounds next December The Dunedin authorities have refused the Adventists' application to hold their camp there, so that Wanganui will now have a further opportunity to invite the organisation. As the camp will bring 700 visitors to the city, the suggestion met with uanimous support.
