THE LATE MR. IZARD

STAUNCH SUPPORTER OF GARRISON BAND At the Garrison Band rehearsal in the Opera House last evening appreciative reference was made by Mr. G. H. Pownall, president, to the generosity of the late Mr. W. A. Izard, who for many years acted as honorary solicitor to the band. Any effort to assist the band had always found him keen to give all assistance in his power. Bandsmen paid a tribute to ’ Mr. Izard’s memory by passing a resolution of condolence with the relatives. Chamber of Commerce Tribute Feeling reference to the death of Mr. W. A. Izard was made last night by Mr. D. G. O'Toole, who presided at the meeting of the Wanganui Chamber of Commerce. Mr. O'Toole recalled that Mr. Izard had been a member of the executive of the Chamber of Commerce for many years. An expression of sympathy with the relatives of Mr. Izard was recorded.
