Morrison was a Wanganui visitor to Wellington over the week-end. Mrs. H. Blunt, Wanganui, is holidaying at Wainui Beach, Gisborne. Mrs. S. Armstrong, who has been spending seven weeks’ holiday in Wanganui, returned to her home‘at Cambridge on Friday. Miss Mary Doolan has returned to Wellington after speiding the holidays in Wanganui. * * * * Mrs. F. K. Turnbull and Miss Jocelyn Turnbull, Bell Street, are visiting Mrs. Harry Bayly, Remuera, Auckland. Mrs. D. Summers, of Takapuna, Auckland, who has been staying with her daughter, Mrs. B. Delves, St. Hill Street, for several months, will leave on Thursday on her return north. Mrs. Blythe, of Wanganui, who has been visiting New Plymohth as the I guest of her daughter, Mrs. O. Bur- j ford, has gone on to Auckland. Mrs. W. Benefield and Miss Jean Benefield returned from New Plymouth on Sunday. They were accompanied by Mrs. M. J. Wilson, of Castlecliff, who is making her home in Auckland, left by car on Saturday for the north, accompanied by her husband and daughter Margaret. After an absence of 15 months, Miss Bessie Thompson, of Dunedin, well known as a producer 'of plays throughout New Zealand, returned by the Oronsay on Friday. While abroad Miss Thompson toured extensively through Great Britain and the Continent. Mrs. S. Robertson. Lower Hutt, who ' has been accompanying her husband on a motor tour of the North Island, spent a few days with friends in Wanganui and left on Sunday for her home. Miss Phyllis Wade, the England woman golf champion in 1934, and runner-up in 1936, is to be married shortly to Surgeon-Commander John 1 Wylie, 0.8. E. Miss Wade, who has ' played for England in international golf matches, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Wade, of Queen’s Park, Bournemouth. Her fiance is the only son of the late Dr. Wylie and Mrs. Wylie, of Fulwood, Stewart on, Ayrshire. Miss Wade toured Australia and New Zealand a few years ago as a member of the British golf team. ENJOYABLE PICNIC CHILDREN ENTERTAINED The January meeting of the Mosston Women’s Institute took the form of a picnic, which was held at Aramoho Park. Prior to the gathering, business was discussed and members were reminded that nominations for the new committee and president are to be handed in at the February meeting. Keen interest was taken in the sports programme, for which Mrs. Siddalls was an excellent handicapper.
