GROCERS’ CONFERENCE

OPENING IX TIMARI’ LARGE AMOUNT OF BUSINESS ( Per Press Association. J TIMARU, Feb. 6. Forty-five delegates are attending the sixteenth conference of the New' Zealand Master Grocers’ Federation, which opened at Caroline Bay with Mr. M. J. Campbell presiding. The delegates were welcomed by the Mayor, Mr. W. G. Tweedy, and other speakers were Ihe Rev. Clyde Carr. M.P., Mr. E. Darrock, president of the Chamber of Commerce, and Mr. C. D. Gibson, president of the South Canterbury Grocers’ Association. The conference ends on Friday and in the interim the annual report will be presented, officers elected, papers read, and 26 remits dealt with.
