Old-Established Race Supported THE AUTUMN MEETING ENTRIES FOR TWO DAYS Nominations closed last night for the Wanganui Jockey Club’s autumn meeting, which is to be held on Thursday and Saturday, February 23 and 25, and evidence of the generous support accorded by owners and trainers is provided by the fact that the total nominations exceed last year's total by close on 50. The stake of £6OO provided for the Wanganui Cup, together with the £56 trophy presented by Mr. T. Currie, attracted eighteen nominations for this old-established event, which is to be decided over one mile four and aquarter furlongs. Last year’s winner, Brazen King, is again engaged, and Master Cyklon, the previous winner, is also nominated. A Melbourne Cup winner in Wotan, the Stratford Cup winner Lickem, and Opunake Cup winner Winsome Lu will also add to the interest, and there we also engaged such good handicap performers as Tiger Gain, Aussie Ra, The Bigot, Entail, Rustem, Taitoru, Dark Eagle and Beaupartir.
