HEALTH CAMP FUNDS SUNDAY PICTURE COMMITTEE (Own Correspondent). RAETIHI, Feb. 5. The Raetihi Sunday Pictures Committee met in the Council Chambers last Tuesday to allocate the proceeds from Sunday pictures. Those present were: Dr. J. W. Feltham (Mayor), Cr. T. Shout (Deputy-Mayor), Mr. C. M. Turner (town clerk, Raetihi Borough Council) and Messrs. L. A. Eastman, C. F. Goodman and A. H. Rose (Picture Committee). A letter was received from the Wanganui Health Camp Trust Board thanking the committee for the generous contributions from the committee and stating that the Wanganui camp was proposed to be opened on February 13. A grant of £l5OO from the King George V Memorial Fund was expected and with the funds in hand it was hoped that the camp could, after equipment was completed, be maintained for two years. The following grants were allocated from the funds in hand:— N.Z. Cripple Children’s Society (Wanganui branch), £25; Wanganui Health Camp Trust Board, £5O; Raetihi branch Plunket Society (building fund), £5O. Total, £125. The financial position as at January 31, 1939, revealed a total of £142 6s sd. Less grants as above, £125; less grants ■* Io Dr. Ada Paterson Memorial Fund, £1 Is—balance carried forward, £l6 4s lid. It was moved by Mr. Eastman, seconded by Cr. Shout, that a hearty vote of thanks be accorded Mr. C. M. Turner for the efficient manner in which he had carried out the duties of secretary to the committee. (Carried.) Thanks The Picture Committee desires to express their thanks and appreciation to their many patrons for the above sum raised for these worthy objects, and for the assistance of the Council Committee in allocating the funds. The committee will be glad to receive and forward any further donations in cash and goods for the benefit of the health camp. PERSONAL Rev. M. Underhill has returned from a holiday spent in the Rotorua and Tauranga districts. Miss Marion Flood is spending a few days in Auckland.
