BRUTAL MURDER
YOUNG WOMAN AND BROTHER ATTACKED. I SENSATION IN NEW SOUTH WALES. Received Feb. 5, 7 p.m. SYDNEY, Feb. 5. The brutal murder of a prominent young woman and grave injuries to jher brother, has stirred the northern ;districts of New- South Wales. ; The dead woman, Constance Somi merlad, aged 36, kept house for her ' brother, Eric Sommerlad, aged 26, a [farmer, four miles from Tenterfield, (where the family is well known and 'respected. Constance apparently was (attacked with an axe while in bed. Her head was frightfully battered. 'Her brother was similarly assailed and 'was found unconscious. There is little I hope for his recovery. i The tragedy was discovered on Saturday by a sister who was visiting the ! house. ■ Constance was a niece of Mr. E. C. Sommerlad, Parliamentarian manager of the Country Press Association of New South Wales. AN ARREST MADE Received Feb. 6. 1 a.m. BRISBANE, Feb. 5. ! A man aged about 25 has been arrested here in connection with the Tenterfield murder. The condition of Eric Somerlad is slightly improved.
