There was a naI tional and representative gathering, ini eluding the King and Crown Prince. ; Dr. Nansen, in a speech, said tho I Dawes plan first brought light to the darkest Europe after the war, while the initiative of the Locarno Pact came from Dr. Luther, Dr Strcscmann, and Sir Austen Chamberlain. M. Briand, he said, had contributed most largely to the conclusion of the conclusion of the Rhine Treaty, which introduced a new spirit in the relations of former adversaries, eliminating the Rhine as the cause of conflicts in European politics.
