PRAISE FOR NEW ZEALAND MH COATES EULOGISED WORTHY SUCCESSOR TO GREAT STATESMEN. LONDON, Dee. 10. The Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates received a doctoraie at Dublin University. The Public Orator introduced Mr. C-oates as a worthy successor to the great men—Mr R. J. Seddon and Sir Joseph Ward. Mr Coates’ Government in one of the fairest of the Dominions, he said, was characterised by consummate statesmenship and wisdom.
