EIGHTEEN OFFENCES YOUNG MAN PLEADS GUILTY (Per Press Association) AUCKLAND, Dec. 9. Clifton Webb Verran, aged 28, pleaded guilty this morning to 18 charges, covering various offences. He was committed for sentence on bail. Two of'the informations related to the forgery of import entries by the use of a rubber stamp for the signature of the Collector of Customs, the forgery of the name of J. J. Wooler to import entries (four and twelve charges of fraudulently omitting to account to the Collector of Customs at Auckland for £230. all of which had been refunded by the accused since the date of his arrest on November 25.
