PERSONAL. (From the 1 * Chronicle’s” Special Correspondent). Mr and Mrs F. E. Wilson returned from Wellington on Tuesday. Mrs W. H. Bailey, Auckland, is visiting Mangaweka. Mr N. Trewley left for New Plymouth on Wednesday. Mr R. J. Bunker returned from Palmerston North on Sunday. VALEDICTORY. At the conclusion of the Town Board’s meeting this week Mr N. Trewley, who is leaving the district, and has held the position of Town Clerk for some time, was presented with a gold pencil, suitably engraved. A send-off was tendered to Mr Trewley by his fellow sports at an evening at Messrs Amer and Dowsett’s residence, and he was presented with a smoker’s outfit. Cards and musical items were the order of the evening and an enjoyable time was spent. DANCE. A dance was held in the Kawhatau Hall on Wednesday night. It was the first dance held there for some weeks and the hall was crowded. Music was supplied by local musicians, who were kept going till the early hours.
