NATURE'S LATENT FORCES.
PROPOSED HARNESSING OF VIC-
TORIA FALLS
Received November 10^ 0.3 a.ra
CAPETOWN, <November 9r?-
A scheme has >be»n mooted to utilise the Victoria Falls for the transmission of power to the Witwaterand. Expert opinion is favourable to estimated ■minimum supply of half-»-million horsepower, in the driest season. Actually the Rand consumes 150,000 horse power, costing three millions per ■'annum. The cutting of a canal at a point "below the falls would increase the supply to a million horsa power.
