Owing 'bo the failure of the silk cocoon and uhe rice crops there is a great famine in' Fukushimia, iMiyagi, and Iwate. Over a million people are on the verge of starvation.
LONDON, •November 8
The London press hope that the British people will extend m practical sympathy to the famine-sfcricken people of Japan.
