The registration in Melbourne of a British-Australasian company, called tho Zinc Corporation Company, Limited, was announced a few days ago. Details now to hand by mail show that the capital of the company is £350,000, ■ and that dumps of tailings amounting in all to 1,945,000 tons, have been acquired. The company has also contracted to take-the oxitput of tailings from various companies equivalent to 61,000,000 tons. It is estimated that in round figures 22,000,000 ozs. of silver, 900,000 tons of zinc, and 350,000 tons of lead are held in this mass of tailings, but that with present methods only a relatively small proportion can bo saved in a commercial state.
