MR REMINGTON AND THE FREEHOLD.
To the Editor
Sir,—-As some misconception appears to exist with reference to (Mr Remington's views and actions on the all-absorb-ing question, " The (Freehold," I would ask you to reprint in your widely-cir-culated paper a letter written by that gentlemen to the Wellington " Times" of April 11th, 1904. This will, I think, fully explain (his attitude and refute any assertions which have been made, and which are sought to mislead those who are not fully posted up on matters at present occupying a large share of public attention. His attitude with regard to the Land Act of 1882 and the Lands for Settlement Act show that he is quite consistent in refusing to, entertain the freehold for those who take other people's land away from them.—l am, etc., • - . g. -McGregor.
