AUSTRALIA AND HER CRITICS.

United Press Association—Copyright

Received Novemiber 5, 4.45 p.m

LONDON, November 4

Hume (Nisbeb, the novelist, in the " Daily Graphic," violently attacked the Labour Union tyranny of Australia, declaring that no Home immigrant would receive the slightest show of justice or friendliness at their hands. Mr Ooghlan replied that Nisbet was "drunk with rage." Since "trade union members numbered only 150,000 out of 1,100,000 male adults, how they contrived to fiendishly tyrannise was a mystery.

Replying to the " Financier's " Melbourne correspondent's comments, Mr Coghlan declares that Australia's population has increased 91,592 during the last two years.
