PUKEKOHE, November 2. Mr •Massey spoke at Pukekolie to--night. A memorial containing 1900^ signatures was presented, absolving Mmr from the necessity of addressing: all buir a few places as a. testimony of confidence. A presentation was also made by-, bhe... Pukekohe Cricket Club of a, pipe^ Mr Massey reviewed the past session^, .outlining the policy of, the/Opposition, embrficing .an increase of control by- ' Pai'lia-ment of the finances; the restoration of the powers of the Auditor-Gen- , eral; the repeal of the Public Revenue-
Act; tie placing of the whole of the Government Departments under the AuditDepartment ; elective Legislative Council; Public Service Board1; and the opportunity of acquiring the freehold of" all classes of Crown land.
Mr Grey, the Liberal and Labous organiser, was present and asked a numberof questions, as- did also others, amidst? a perfect storm of dheers and hoots.
A vote of thanks and confidence was.proposed. 'An amendment of thanks--only and confidence in the Government was proposed, but declared not seconded, and the motion declared carried bythe chairman amidst uproar, in whioh?the meeting broke up.
