A GENERAL'S SIGNIFICANT
ACTION
Received November 3, 8.26 a.m. ST. PETERSBURG, November 2. General Trepoff is suspected of trying to trip Count de Witte by alternately tolerating and suppressing disorders. The crowd, at daybreak, serenaded the Prefect of Moscow with dirges as a reminder of the slaughter of unoffending citizens. The troops suddenly appeared, and were preparing to fire, when General Ludunoff, fcih'Cßving his uniform, threw himself in front of the rifles, daring the troops to fire, and thus prevented a massacre.
Received November 3, 8.26 a.m. v LONDON, November 2. Router's agency reports that the Strike ComniJtitee 'has decided to terminate tlhe general strike to-morrow.
