(Government Memo.) WELLINGTON, November 2. The 'New Zealand team beat Surrey County by 11 points to nil, one goal and two tries. Roberts, Johnson, and McGregor secured tries.. The game was played in a deluge of rain.

Rain fell tlhrtyughoiut the New Zealanders' match against Surrey, and the final f^bages of the game were played in a very heavy storm. Despitie the adverse weather conditions t*he attendance was 12,000. The local men made a good defence in tihe fi%"?t half, which was characterised by evenness of play, 'tihe only score being a try obtained by Roberts (Wellington), which Gi-Mett (Canterbury) converted—s to nil. In the second spell, tihe visitors pressed their opponents continuously, except for an occasional rush by tihe Home forwards.
•Oorbeibt (Westland) and MacGregor (Wellington) crossed the line, but the kicka at goal failed, and tihe game ended—'New Zealand 11, Surrey 0.
