RESERVISTS REFUSE TO FIRE ON THE CROWD.

Reservists at Biotroff refused to fire on the crowd, who were carrying red flags, whereupon the officers emptied their revolvers, wounding several of tlhe demonstrators.
Troops fired on a csroiwd of workmeh at Pabianice, killinig eight and wounding 24. Late in tfhe evening several collisions occurred in St. Petersburg between the crowd and the* troops, a number being wounded.
The centirail strike committee insist that tihe only way to give real appeasement will 'be ijbp convoke a constituent assembly, elected on the universal, equal, direct, and secret suffrage of all adult citizens, without distinction of sex, creed, or nationality, and a provision that all are guaranteed oiv.il freedom. As these privileges have not been granted, tihey therefore declare that the strike continues.
Ouitside the larger cities the manifesto was hailed witih gratitude. Patriotic processions thronged tihe churches. LONDON, November 1. Russian stocks are buoyant, and fours rose 3£ in London.
