Mrs. Howie ("Princess, Te Rangi Pai"), who has been touring England, has returned to the colony. ;P " Mr. W. J. Birch, of Thoresby, Marton, will leave for England^ in December, on a twelve months' visit. He will represent the North Island Sheepbreeders' Association at the National Sheep-; breeders' Convention in .England in Juno next. ' ' /
The Rev. W. Hewitson, of Knox Church, Dunedim, and th© Rev. A. Cameron, of Anderson's Bay, Dunedin, arrived in Auckland by the Sonoma on Tuesday, after an extended visit to England, America, and othei countries, including Palestine. Mr. Hewitson .proceeded on his journey south on Tuesday, but Mr. Cameron will remain in Auckland a few days. Both gentlemen mentioned that they had had a most enjoyable tour, and feel much benefited in health by their holiday.
