ROWING.

W. R. C

By " Swivel." The final of the above club's Trial Fours was rowed off last evening, and attracted a large number of spectatoris, who iweore rewarded by seeing one of the best 'races rowed on the river far many a day. The following were the ■crews: Dodgshun (stroke), Bell, Collier, Meuli, and Day (stroke), Wo-on, Winstone, ia'nd Till. Both crews got •aiway well. For the first quarter of a mile the botatsi iwere quite level. Then Dodg&hun, inch iby inch, forged ahead until at the groyne ho was leading by a ibare canvas. Day then quickened up, and drew up level. Dodgshun had been rowing a very fast stiroka, and it looked ■as df (the longer stroke rowed by Day would land him home a winner. However, Dodgshun Still maintained his pace, amd, aibly backed up by his crew, gradually went to the front and wan by a bane canvas. After their display in the semi-finals on Tuesday evening I anticipated that Dodgshun woiild win. He deserves very great credit for the game race he rowed. It must be remembered tlhat previous to last night he had but one row with the crew. The men behind him also did very well to pick up the altered stroke, which was much faster than they had been accustomed to.

A word must afeo be said for Day's crew. They rowed a very game a<aoe, so 'much so that this result was in doubt night to 'the last stroke.
