ADDINGTON MARKETS.

At. the Addington live stock market to-day the entries, as a whole, were on the small side, with the exception of pigs and lambs, of which there were a good entry. The entry of sheep was smalt, and competition was keen, with the result that prices were higher than of late. There was a good yarding of fat cattle, mostly of good quality, and steers and heifers, which sold up to late rates. ?
Fat Cattle.—There was a fair yarding of fat cattle, and bidding in most cases was slack, but slightly improved towards the end of the day. Steers brought £7 2s 6d to £11 17s 6d, heifers £5 5s to £10, cows £5 5s to £9, 22s and up to 30s per 100 lbs. Fat Calves.—There was a good entry, which sold at 7s 6d to 425. Storo Sheep.—Store .sheep sold well, though there was only a small yarding. The principal sales were 69 twotooth crossbred wethers (in the wool) at 19s Id, 102 4 and 6 tooth wethers (shorn) at 15s, 240 hoggets (shorn) 14s 3d,, 167 ewes and Jatubs (in the wool) lla 3d, 59 aged ewes m lamb 16s Id, ditto 16s 6d, 18 ewes and lambs 12s lOd (all counted), 40 three-quarter bred hoggets in the wool 18s Id, 105 wethers in the wool 19s 7d, 199 (shorn) 16s Id. Fat Lambs.—Fat lambs'Vere entered in good numbers, there being about double last week's numbers. Prices were slightly better, and ranged from ]8s 3d to 22s 9(1.
Fat Sheep.—The entry of fat sheep was moderate, a large proportion being short merinos, which were of good quality. The market opened strongly, and prices were firm throughout. The prices for sheep in wool were much the name as last week, shorn merinos being a little better. Wethers, prime (woolly) made 25s Id to 29s 6d, lighter 22s to 24s 6d, shorn prime 21s 3d to 23s lid, medium 18s 3d to 20s 3d, light' and unfinished KJs 4d to 17s 2d, ewes (woolly) 22s 6d to 24s 6d, shorn 19s lid, woolly merino wethers 19s to 24s lid. Store and Daily Cattle.— The yarding of sore and dairy cattle was good. Quality and prices were about the same- a» last week. The prices for yearlings, 15 to 18 months, 29s to 445, ' 2-year steers 77s 6d, 2-year heifers 40s 6d to 92s 6d, 3-year heifers 50s to 77s 6d, dry cows 35s to 655, dairy cows £4 to £7 ss, ■ >,'. - - •'
Pigs.—There was a good entry of fat pigs, and a small entry of stores, .and good sales were tne order-throughout. Baconers brought 42s to 555, equal to fiom 3^ to 3gd per lb.; porkers, 28s to 40s, equal to from 4d to 4£d per lb.; weaners, 7s 6d to 10s 6d, and bigger stores 14s to £1.
