WANGANUI AGRICULTURAL ASSOCIATION.

A committee meeting of the Wanganut Agricultural Association was heM yesterday" afternoon, when there were present Messrs. J. H. Nixon (in tho chair), J. Handley, A. Lees, J. T. Sinclair, G. Smith, E. Perrett, H. Hunter, A. Burnett, J. B. Murray, JameS Taylor, C. Perrett, K. Ross, and A. McGregor. MINUTES.—The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.

HOLIDAY.—The Palmerston North town clerk wrote stating that the question of proclaiming a half-holiday on the occasion of the Wanganui Show had been referred to the Holiday Committee.

FOUR-IN-HAND. — Resolved, that the first prize for four-in-hand be £5, and the second £3/ conditionally upon there being four entries. PIGEON FLYING—On the motion of Mr. Sinclair, it was resolved that all owners of pigeons entered for the flying race be members of the Wanganui Flying Club. NEW MEMBERS.—Messrs. C. A. Barton, W. Finlay, C. B. Laird, H. C. Taylor were elected new members. INSURANCE.—It was resolved that the accident insurance risk against the Association's employees be transferred from the New Zealand Accident Insurance office to the Ocean office.—Mr. Murray moved that the Association take out a general risST to cover any accident which- might occur during the show.—lt was ultimately decided to hold this matter over till next meeting. HOCKEY.—The Hockey Association wrote pointing out that their ground would be injured by the driving competition.—lt was resolved that the secretary refer the Association to the Jockey Club> v /and at the same time point out that every care. would be taken of the ground. CERTIFICATES.—A discussion took place on the question of~giving a certificate to every prize-taker.—Mr. Burnett gave notice to move that certificates be granted the same as ISSt year, but that the names of the president and secretary be printed, in order to minimise clerical work.

JUDICIAL COMMITTEE.—Mr. Burnett moved, and Mr. Sinclair seconded, that the powers of the Judicial Committee be extended so as to enable them to deal with all matters of dispute •in connection with the Show, whether on Show day or afterwards.—After discussion, the motion was carried.
