PRISON ESCAPEES.

Per Press Association. OHRISTOHURCH, November 1. Two prisoners^j^ho were serving thedr sentences at the Hanmer Prison Camp, escaped eitiher late last night or early this morning. The police and some of the prison warders scoured the country around the camp to-day, but failed to find any trace or the escapees. One of the men is Leonard Willis, who was sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment on June Bth last, and the other is James Lydhursfc, who also received a twelve months' sentence on August 30th. Both men were wearing 'prison clothes at the time of their escape with the exception of hats.
