Fellow Working Men This is For You! You don't believe in TRUSTS and MONOPOLIES. You are wise. But don't you know that if you vote for the BAR you are supporting The Biggest and Greediest Monopoly that's going ; and one which from the -STANDPOINT of LABOUR is altogether . Detrimental to the Workers? Returns published by a British Chancellor of the Exchequer show that of Every £100 of Value produced in Mining, Agricultue, Cotton, and Iron Industries are average of 4p4 2s is, paid in wages, while only £7 10s goes in wages in producing £100 worth of liquor. That is: the workers employed in grog-making Get only £7 10/- out of every J6IOO worth of grog produced, while t! ft workers in the other trades on the average Get £34 2/- out of every £100. Look at this. A certain Distillery with a capital of £1,000,000 employs only 140 men; while an Iron Foundry in the s^ine town with a capital of employs 900 men. One tenth the capital Employs Six Times as Many Men. In the United Kingdom in 1904 175 Millions were spent in liquor; but only 1183 men were employed to manufacture that j liquor, while 2O Millions] were spent in boots, to manu- 1 facture which 5637 Men were employed. The liiquor Monopoly Scooped Up Eight and a half Times the money, but did not employ a quarter as many men. DON'T FEED THE FAT MAN any longer. Shut up the Bars I VOTE NO-LICENSE, and drive the capita! invested in Brewing into OTHER industries and so make work for A Much Larger Number of Workers. STRIKE OUT THE TOP LINE! Look-out for To-Morrow!
