COMPETITIVE PROVINCIAL DISPLAYS.
PALMERSTON N., October 30. The Premier, replying to a telegram eenfc him by P.' E. Freeth, a member of the Palmenston North Chamber of Commerce, says it is the intention of the Government to have compe-tdtive provincial displays at the New Zealand Exhibition. He hopes each provincial district will exert itself to do justice to the scheme. A similar procedure was followed in. connection with the St. Louds Exhibition, and proved one of the mcsfc attractive features there. It was expected that the Government or Exhibition authorities will communicate with the Chambers of Gommerce of the provincial centres, intimating space likely to be available and outlining the general cbairaoter the exhibit is expected to tiake. 3
