ENTRIES CLOSE IN FIVE DAYS
In th-a grain section &l our forthcoming Agricultural Show there are nine classes, including the best sampjes of milling wheat, seed wheat, Algerian oats, duns, or black oats, long white oats, short white oats, Cape barley, chevalier barley, and field peas. Thes© varieties are to be specified, all samples to be not less than halt a bushel, and the prizes are—First 10s., second ss. Mr. John Hand'ley gives a special priz« of a medal valued at two, guineas to the exhibitor showing the best sample of milling wheat. In the wool section there are thirteen classes, including the products from such breeds of sheep as Lincoln, English and Border Leicester, and crossbred; also the best exhibit of crossbred scoured wool. The prizes are 10s. and 55., and in addition prizes of 20s. and ss. are offered for the best dressed mat, For the five classes in ales, wines, and spirits, the prizes wilt be the Association s certificates lor the beet cask of colonial ale and porter, bottled colonial ale, collection of aerated waters and cordials, and collection o£ colonial wines. The classes here enumerated should certainly have the effect of drawing a considerable number of exhibits to the Show, which is to bo hold on 15th and 16th November, and a further reminder is given tha'. entries positively close at 9 p.m. on Saturday next, 4th November.
