AN OVATION AT NEWTON ABBOT.
When the New Zealanders returned to their training quarters at Newton Abbot just before midnight on Saturday they wero vociferously welcomed by "hundreds of people who had collected outside the station. In two coaches they were driven through the town ; preceded by the Battalion Band of the Haytors playing popular airs. Outside the Globe Hotel1, the team's headcmarters, there was another big demonstration, and Mr. Dixon, the manager, mado a short speech. The New Zealanders the a formed up in the front part of the hotel and gave vent to their stirring Maori chorus, and the crowd responded with enthusiastic cheers and the National Anthem. Mr. Dixon has received numerous telegrams congratulating his team on its success.
