Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, October 27. Tho Council met at 2.30. The Acts Compilation Bill passed its final stages. Hon. Pitt moved the second reading of the Australian and New Zealand Naval Defence Bill. The second reading wa6 agreed to on the voices. In Committee on the Bdl the Hon. Rigg moved an amendment to provide that no supplementary agreement shall have the effect of extending the period of ten years. This Avas lost by 21 to l,.and the Bill put through its final stages. It Avas resolved that the Council do not insist on its amendments in the Workers' DAvellings Bill. The Maori Land Settlement Bui passed through Committee with verbal amendments and passed its final stages. The Council adjourned till 7.30.
