THE MASTERTON MEETING.
The Masterton R.C.s meeting will .-take place to-day and Friday. From latest advices the course will be heavy .after recent rains. The first event each •day is timed to start at 12.30 p.m. acceptances have been reoeived, and some good racing should &c witnessed. The following may run •well:— Hack Hurdles.-Moetoropuku. Hack Flying.—Moata. JMasterton Cup.—Capulet. Maiden Hack.--Rosegrove. Ladies' Bracelet.—Rosegrove. October Hack.— Operetta. Publicans' Handicap.—Hinerewa or dapulet. Dash Hack.—Takina or Moata.
The racehorses Mahutonga, Starsshoot, Melodeon, Mystification, Muniesta, Golden Gate. Zimmerman, Lyrast, Perdita, Medallist, and Sir Tristram were shipped South on Tuesday might. . Acceptances and general entries tor -the Waverley and Waitotara R-C----aneeting are due this evening, at 8 -o'clock, with the hon. secretaiy, Mr. A. ID M&thieson. Curlew, who was taken over to Australia with Maniapoto, has been ship3>ed to India. __^__
