M.Z. INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION.
Per Press Association
WELLINGTON, October 24. Reference was made to the Christchurch Exhibition at the annual dinner pf the Industrial Association.
Mr T. ißallinger said it would be very interesting, and would bring a large influx of visitors. Indirectly, the gain would be large, but they could hardly expect dt to be ia financial success, as most of the big exhibitions ended in a loss, -while the small ones held by local Industrial Associations luad all shown a profit. Replying to a toast, Mr S .Brown said he was doubtful as to the aftereffects of the exhibition. It was inviting other countries to use New Zealand as a dumping ground, and after the exhibition, with all this stuff dumped on the markets, there would be depression, and the-loss would fall on the colony as a whole. At another stage, the same speaker said that in many lines of manufacture New Zealand would 'be largely crippled at n"o very distant date, and we were not training up any airtisaai class.
