ENTRIES CLOSE NOVEMBER 4
There are no less than fifty-four classes in Home industries, for amateurs, to be exhibited on the first day of the forthcoming Wanganui Agricultural Association's annual show, and a3 the entrance in all classes is only one .shilling, the entries, which close on Saturday, 4th November, should be numerous indeed. To run through the list in this particular section, it will interest the thrifty housewife to know that substantial prizes will be awarded for the best two-pound loaf■ of*<ho»t%-made bread, best loaf brown breads best exhibit of fancy bread,' half-dozen oven scones, brown scones, girdle scones, and fancy scones, sausage rolls, pikelets, jam tarts, fruit cake, iced ana ornamental cake, savoury sandwiches, jam sandwiches or roll, home-made sweets, plum puddings, home-brewed beer, apple pie, oat cake, mixed cakes, eggs, fowls, sauces, pickles, jams, bottled fruits, table decorations, child's clothes, fancy work, dressed doll, neatest darned sock or stocking, and the best laundered white shirt. Further particulars of this extensive and varied list may be obtained on application to the secretary, Mr. Selby Morton, and it should be remembered that entries positively close at 9 p.m. on Saturday, 4th November.
