Newman. Secretary, Mussell Fleetwood. RULES AND REGULATIONS. • To which the attention of Persons entering Horses is particularly directed. All entries, nominations, etc., will close at the Secretai-y's Office, New Plymouth, at 9 p.m., except when otherwise specified. All entries to be sealed, and addressed to the Secretary, Taranaki Jockey Club, New Plymouth, entrance money enclosed, with tho name, age at the time of entry, name of owner, pedigree, colours of the rider, and in the case of handicaps, performances of the horse. Entries made by telegraph must be confirmed in writing at the earliest possible time, or nominator may be fined a sum not exceeding £10. See Rule 45. Owners, Trainers and others entering and accepting horses for the T.J.C. Meetings are notified that no entries or acceptances will be received unless accompanied by the necessary amount in cash. Any owner failing to declare his colours at time of entry will be fined 2 soys, unless the colours of the Owner of the horse are duly registered. It is now compulsory on Stewards to inflict a line of not less than 1 soy upon any person running a hors3 in wrong colours. All persons intending to , withdraw horses are required to give notice to the Secretary, or Clerk of the Scales, one half-hour before the official time for starting the race". Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a fine, to be imposed by the Stewards,, not exceeding 20 soys. In accordance with Rule 143a (for the purpose of forming a Fund to answer claims under "The Workman's Compensation for Accidents Act") no horse will be allowed to start unless a receipt Bhall be first produced for'*£l, paid in respect of such horse to the Secretary of the Conference. Every Gentleman Rider, Jockey, or Apprentice must produce his license to the Clerk of the Scales. Stakes are paid in full. All races to be run under the N.Z. Rules of Racing. No entry will bo received after the hour named, under any pretence whatever. . 1. Maiden Plate.—l 2 noon. Of 50 soys. Second horse to receive 10 soys from the stakes. Open to horses that have never won a race. Weight for age. Entrance, 1 soy. One mile. 2. Flying Handicap^—l2.4s p.m. Of 75 soys. Second horse to receive 10 soys from the stakes. Nomination, 1 soy; acceptance 1 soy. Six furlongs. 3. First Welter Handicap.—l.3o p.m. Of 60 soys. Second horse to receive 10 soys from the stakes. Minimum weight, 9st. Nomination, Lsov; acceptance 1 soy. Seven furlongs. 4. First Handicap Hurdles.—2.ls p.m. Of 60 soys. Second horse to receive 10 soys from the stakes. Over six flights of hurdles, 3ft 6in high. Nomint^bion 1 soy; acceptance 1 soy. One mile and a half. 6. Christmas Handicap.—3 p.m. Ot 100 soys. Second horse to receive 20 soys, and third horse 5 soys from the stakes.
