GISBORNE, November 27. The yacht E3a Ora left ati 2.30 this afternoon. She was accompanied down the bay, by local craft. Though Mr Buckeridge intimated to the Customs that he was leaving for Wellington, the general impression is that he is sailing direct for London.
TIMARTJ, November 27
Mr W. Evans, chairman of the (Harbour Board, sent a long letter to the Board at the ordinary meeting to-day relative to the late differences between himself and the resident engineer. He objected to the Board's way of settling the matter, and suggested that the inquiry be: reopened by an ouside tribunal, consisting of the Resident Magistrate, Mayor, and the proprietor of the Timaru "Herald." He added thati if this course were not adopted he would resign his position as chairman. The Board declined to accept the suggestion, and decided to adhere t«> their original decision
AUCKLAND, November 27. Following are the particulars of the dispute filed in the Conciliation Court between 19 gold mining companies in the Thames district and the Thames Miners' Union. The object of the application is to renew the existing award with such alterations as are1 set out in a certain agreement beween the parties.
