METHODIST SYNOD.

The Methodist Synod to-day recommended the Conference .to set apart a suitable .minister to urge the. claims of Three Kings College by lecturing on its behailf throughout New Zealand. The report of tihe Connexional Committee on the supernumerary fund was submitted for consideration. After discussion, >an amendment, of the Rev. H. Bull, approving practically of the adoption of the report, but that the two proposed braJnches of funds be referred to competent and impartial experts for investigation and report, so that the result may be tihe apotion of such a well and carefully considered plan as will prove generally and permanently acceptable to the church, was carried unanimously.
The Rev. W. Lee was elected representative to the Conference.
The Ilev. C. H. Laws presented the report of the Connexional Committee on the Sunday School Union. It was agreed to recommend the Conference to discontinue the Connexions! Union unless, greater colonial interest be shown. Tho Synod, after a lengthy discussion, agreed to recommend that" the test of membership be regular attendance at the Lord's (table, and that tickets be renewed yearly instead of quarterly as at present. It was also agreed to recommend that a proportion of me.mb.ers of quarterly meeting be elected by miembeit* of the church, and that invitations to ministers be given by the December quarterly meetings. A garden paa-ty was held at the residence of Mr. J. S. Fledber, and was greatly enjoyed. The Synod closed its session late in the evening. ■
