The Otago A. and P. Society's summer Show was commenced to-day, when cattle, sheep, and pigs were judged. In nearly every case an advance is noticeable. The entries appear to bei leas ■than lust year, but this is due to doing away with the duplication of entries in the various classes. As a> matter of fact, the number of animals present is greater than usual. There was a good attendance, considering »the limited attractions. The sheep dog trials were interesting. The following were the championship winners : —Cattle : Shorthorn—A. Chamberlain's bull Duke of Rothesay and cow Tulip. Polled Angus —Murray, Roberts and Co.'s bull Mistral a/nd cow Quetta 111. Ayrshire— T. Lees' bull Lord Kitchener; cow, W. Cowan's Ada 111. Alderneys—Bull, A. Quertier's. Fat Cattle—'Wilson and Calder's bullock.. J. Holmes was the only exhibitor of Hereford^. Sheep.— Merino—Fine combing, Mat6on and Shennan's ram and ©we; strong combing, W. Telford's ram and Watson and Shennan's ewe. Border Leicesters— Little Bros.' ram and ewe. English Leicesters—Little Bros.' ram and ewe. Lincoln —Now .Zealand «nd Australian Land Company's ram and ewe. Romney Marsh —-Fulton Trustees' ram and owe. Shropshire—F. Bull's ram «md B. Seth. Smith's ewe. Cheviots—CJastlerock Company's ram and ©we; in-bred half-bred, J. Stringfellow's ram. In fat sheep, in pen of five longwool -or lpngwool crossbred wethers, the judges comment wan "Four pens of the finest and best sheep ever exhibited at Tahuna Park." In pigs, the Seacliff Asylum secured the great bulk of the prizes. G. Rhodes (Canterbury) and A. Avery (Timaru) secured some firsts. There was a fine show of implements and macbinlery.
